Job Description
The role supports security infrastructure operations and handles escalated security incidents and service degradation.
The position includes L1 escalation support, controlled changes, troubleshooting, restoration, governance support, and mentoring.
Operational Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot firewall rules and policies, NAT and sessions, VPN tunnels, routing, connectivity, and security device performance.
- Implement approved security policy and configuration changes, software patches, minor upgrades, and controlled changes.
- Analyze logs, events, traffic behavior, and recurring incident patterns.
- Restore P1 and P2 issues within agreed service levels.
- Coordinate with OEM and L3 support for product defects or advanced cases.
- Conduct root-cause analysis and recommend preventive actions.
Security and Governance
- Support security hardening, baseline compliance, and configuration review and cleanup.
- Maintain technical documentation, methods of procedure, knowledge articles, and the known error database.
- Support audits, reporting, and governance reviews.
- Mentor L1 resources and improve runbooks and automation opportunities.
