Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and initial site set up and production of the HSSE plans, integrated with the wider engineering and logistics plans
- Develop standard operating procedures for HSSE of the program and ensure that QIP follow them
- Coordinate with other delivery partners (Jacobs and Mace), as well as QIC and all existing contractors
- Plan and implement HSSE strategies and approaches in accordance with the completed and approved HSSE plan
- Lead the implementation and application of advanced principles, theories, and concepts, ensuring compliance and consistency
- Contribute to the development of innovative principles and ideas in the fields of HSSE
- Lead on unusually complex HSSE problems and provide highly creative solutions
- Facilitate partnerships with key stakeholders/organizations impacted by the program
- Assign work to employees, oversee and track completion of work assignments
- Interview and select personnel for assignment as required
- Maintain clear and concise work standards and goals; provide training and development; complete performance evaluations
- Prepare needed reports and ensure adherence to all corporate, contractual, ethics and safety standards
Requirements
- Extensive experience in HSSE management, preferably in large scale programs
- Ability to lead planning and site set up for HSSE
- Experience coordinating with multiple delivery partners and contractors
- Strong leadership and team management skills

What You'll Be Doing

- Coordinate with other delivery partners (Jacobs and Mace), as well as QIC and all existing contractors, and future planned procurement of major contractors.
- Plan and implement HSSE strategies and approaches in accordance with the completed and approved HSSE plan.
- Lead the implementation and application of advanced principles, theories, and concepts, ensuring compliance and consistency across the delivery teams.
- Contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas, leading in the fields of HSSE.
- Leads on unusually complex HSSE problems and provides solutions that are highly creative, in coordination with site and engineering leads.
- Facilitates partnerships with key stakeholders/organizations impacted by the program.
- Assigns work to employees, oversees, and tracks the completion of work assignments.
- Interviews and selects personnel for assignment as required.
- Maintains clear and concise work standards and goals; provides training and development; completes performance evaluations, conducts employee counselling, takes corrective action as necessary.
