We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Grid Connections Engineer to join us in our Power & Electricity Transmission team in Perth, WA on a Permanent Full Time basis.
Reporting to the Engineering Grid Connections Manager, you will play a key role in delivering customer-focused grid connection solutions, bringing a value-add mindset that supports operational excellence across APA’s facilities.
A tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline, with eligibility for Engineers Australia membership or equivalent experience.

Experience working with grid-connected electrical installations, power generation or transmission systems, with exposure to grid connection management and compliance.
Knowledge of - or the ability to confidently interpret - relevant regulatory frameworks, such as National Electricity Rules (NER), ESM Rules, and Australian standards.
Experience or exposure to areas such as generator performance standards, compliance testing (e.g., R1/R2 processes), grid connection modelling (DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSS/E or similar), or direct liaison and negotiation with AEMO/NSPs is highly regarded, though similar or transferable experience is also welcome.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to collaborate with a range of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
A collaborative and curious approach, with sound technical judgement and a commitment to safety, quality, compliance and continuous improvement.
