Senior Frontend Engineer

Role Overview

Core Responsibilities

• Own application architecture, conventions, dependency hygiene, Feature-Sliced boundaries, and extraction of a shared component package.
• Build trusted component and end-to-end testing, prioritizing payment flows and making the suite a merge gate.
• Deliver Arabic and right-to-left support with internationalization, logical CSS, and locale-aware formatting.
• Build secure per-tenant themes, fonts, layout variants, and editable copy without CSS or script injection.
• Replace operational polling with SSE or WebSocket delivery and handle optimistic updates and concurrency.
• Improve mobile performance, payment calculations, payment-provider handoffs, retries, access control, and AI-assisted interfaces.
• Review code, write ADRs, mentor engineers, and define effective coding-agent practices.

Technical Environment

• The stack includes Next.js 15 App Router, React 19, TypeScript 5, Turbopack, Tailwind CSS, shadcn/ui, Radix primitives, and TanStack tools.
• Data and operations tooling includes TanStack Query, zustand, react-hook-form, zod, axios, Sentry, ESLint, Prettier, Docker, GitHub Actions, and a self-hosted PaaS.
• Backend integrations include FastAPI services, Traefik, JWT permissions, a Go payment service, and hosted payment-provider pages.

Core Requirements

• At least 6 years of production web-application experience, mostly with React and TypeScript.
• Production Next.js App Router experience covering Server and Client Components, caching, revalidation, server actions, and streaming.
• Experience with server-state management, scalable CSS architecture, design tokens, testing, web performance, internationalization, accessibility, and frontend security.
• Daily coding-agent usage with experience writing agent-facing documentation and verifying generated output.
• Experience shipping an AI-powered interface or equivalent depth with streaming, uncertainty, human review, and fallback behavior.
• A bachelor's degree is preferred.

Preferred Experience

• Design systems, Storybook, monorepo tooling, realtime UI, PWA or service workers, React Native, native Android, Node or BFF layers, and OpenAPI-driven client generation are advantageous.
• Payments, fintech, ecommerce, Arabic, or Gulf-market experience is advantageous.

First Six Months

• Put consumer payment flows under end-to-end tests and make the suite a merge gate.
• Ship Arabic and a proper right-to-left layout across the consumer and administration applications.
• Deliver a per-tenant runtime theme and replace a live operational view's polling with a streamed feed.
• Write shared-layer ADRs and agent-facing documentation that enables a mid-level engineer to ship against them.
