About the Role
Hitachi Energy is seeking a Senior Field Service Engineer GIS Specialist to perform aftermarket services and support for High Voltage Products in UAE. The role involves installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of GIS, LTB, AIS, and Power Quality equipment.

Responsibilities
- Carry out installation, commissioning, extension, and maintenance services for High Voltage Products independently
- Provide on site or remote technical support for installation and commissioning of GIS, LTB, AIS, and Power Quality Solutions
- Ensure adherence to safety and industry acceptable practices
- Create and maintain strong customer relationships, understand their needs, and provide specialist support and solutions
- Prepare tools, equipment, and parts needed for service jobs
- Create service reports, time sheets, and delivery notes
- Act as voice of customer back into internal engineering and quality functions
- Update installed base in IB Analyzer with changes made at site
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in engineering preferred
- Minimum 10 years of experience with 6 8 years in High Voltage Products (GIS, LTB, AIS) installation, testing, commissioning, repair, and maintenance
- Proficiency in both spoken & written English language
- Computer literate

The Opportunity
- This role is responsible for encompassing the performance of aftermarket services and support for the installed base, as well as High Voltage Products (GIS, LTB, AIS, GCB & Power Quality) maintenance services to our utility, contractor for UAE.
- Would involve performing preventive maintenance, upgrades, troubleshooting, and warranty repairs on High Voltage Products, as well as performing commissioning activities.
- Also involves the development and implementation of proactive services responsive to customer requirements.
- The position also includes coordination of investigations of customer reported issues and assistance to achieve equitable solutions for our customers.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Strong knowledge of High Voltage Products Services & Service portfolios.
- Carrying out Installation & Commissioning, extension and Maintenance services independently.
- Providing on site or remote technical support for installation and commissioning of mainly GIS and LTB, AIS & Power Quality Solutions, and routine maintenance services.
- Ensuring that the necessary accident prevention measures are observed.
- Supervising the adherence to safety and industry acceptable practice.
- Creating and maintaining strong relationships with customers.
- Recommendation to customers for immediate and future service requirements.
- Acting as representative of the OEM during interaction with the customer.
- Preparing the tools, equipment and parts needed for a service job.
- Ensuring that documentation for the job is available.
- Creating service reports, time sheets & delivery notes.
- Acting as voice of customer back into internal engineering and quality functions.
Your Background
- A bachelor’s degree or diploma in engineering is preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience and previous experiences of 6 to 8 years in High Voltage Products or Equipment’s (GIS, LTB, AIS), Power Quality Products (PQPS) installation testing and commissioning, repair and maintenance.
- Computer literate and excellent interpersonal written or oral communication skills.
- Relevant experiences in Transmission GIS Installation and Commissioning including Substation Services and Preventive Maintenance activities’ Installation & Commissioning services are added value.
- Team player with the ability to network and build relationships both internally and externally.
- Highly focused on meeting customer service and quality standards.
- Hitachi Energy make GIS with valid Factory Certification is added advantage.
- Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
