Job Overview
Lead cost estimation and tendering activities for mechanical MEP projects.
Estimate HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting, and other mechanical building services for commercial, industrial, residential, and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical MEP scopes, including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire fighting, and other mechanical services.
- Study tender documents, drawings, specifications, and BOQs to understand project scope and estimate requirements.
- Perform quantity take-offs from drawings and BIM/Revit models where applicable.
- Obtain and evaluate vendor, subcontractor, and supplier quotations for materials and equipment.
- Prepare competitive, technically sound, and commercially viable bid proposals within specified deadlines.
- Check technical specifications against project requirements, codes, standards, and local authority regulations.
- Perform cost analysis and value engineering and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Coordinate with design, procurement, planning, and project execution teams and liaise with clients, consultants, and vendors.
- Prepare comparative cost statements, cash flow projections, estimation summaries, risk assessments, and margin analyses.
- Maintain historical cost, vendor rate, and market pricing databases and support post-tender negotiations.
- Mentor and guide junior estimation engineers as needed.
