About the Role

- Perform specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer
- Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established and well defined procedures
- Work on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests
- Propose approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods
- Identify discrepancies in results
- Provide guidance to entry level engineers
- Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision
- Independently perform all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works
Requirements
- 8+ years of marine environmental consultancy experience in the field of EIA and Permitting
- Proven track record in leading and delivering multidisciplinary EIAs, ESIAs and permitting for environmental projects across a range of marine sectors
- Familiarity and proven experience with local and regional environmental regulatory framework(s) preferred
- Familiarity and experience with lenders’ requirements, for example, IFC Environmental and Social Performance Standards (notably PS6 Biodiversity and Sustainability) preferred
- Very strong technical writing skills for reporting and permit related documentation
- Highly adept at stakeholder engagement and agency coordination
- Competent in the planning and delivery of field surveys, including underwater remote video, SCUBA diver based survey techniques, water and sediment sampling, and benthic infauna and plankton sample collection
- Familiarity and basic aptitude with GIS (ArcGIS, QGIS) and PRIMER statistical software would be an asset
- Sound knowledge in the use and application of AI in the field of environmental assessment and project delivery would be an asset

Job Description

Qualifications
- 8+ years of marine environmental consultancy experience in the field of EIA and Permitting.
- Proven track record in leading and delivering multidisciplinary EIAs, ESIAs and permitting for environmental projects across a range of marine sectors.
- Familiarity and proven experience with local and regional environmental regulatory framework(s) preferred.
- Familiarity and experience with lenders’ requirements, for example, IFC Environmental and Social Performance Standards (notably PS6 Biodiversity and Sustainability) preferred.
- Very strong technical writing skills for reporting and permit related documentation; highly adept at stakeholder engagement and agency coordination.
