Collins Engineers, Inc., is looking for a motivated Structural - Senior Engineer to join our team in both our Virginia Beach and Hampton, Virginia, offices.

Navy and commercial projects.

This position includes a combination of structural design and inspection projects.

Projects primarily include transportation structures (bridges, ancillary) and waterfront facilities (piers, wharves, bulkheads).

The position is a mix of office and fieldwork with some travel required.

Typical Duties And Responsibilities

Responsible for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to their area of expertise.
Provides technical engineering expertise to Project Managers, engineers and/or clients to ensure the project complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications and design instructions.
Reviews, analyzes and resolves field and/or design issues.
Provides expertise in complex engineering computations involving conventional engineering practices.
Serves as the technical specialist on engineering projects of varying size and complexity in field or office in accordance with plans and specifications.
Is active in technical societies.
Publishes engineering papers and/or articles.
Responsible for engineering projects of varying size and complexity in field or office in accordance with plans and specifications.
Plans, schedules, conducts, and/or coordinates detailed phases of assigned project work.
Assists in coordinating project schedules and timely completion of projects.
Assists in ensuring that external client focus is top priority of the region and those systems, processes, and activities that focus on the client at all levels of the region are implemented.
Provides technical leadership in the pursuit process, including: proposal preparation, estimating project costs, contract negotiations, project quality, and project profitability.
