- Lead and execute detailed design and analysis of overhead transmission lines (HVAC/HVDC)
- Utilize PLS CADD for transmission line design and CYMCAP for cable modeling
- Apply international and local standards to all design activities
- Conduct complex technical calculations and provide solutions to engineering challenges
- Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and presentations
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including surveyors, environmental specialists, and construction
- Conduct site investigations and collect data for design purposes
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master's preferred
- Proven experience in detailed design and analysis of high voltage overhead transmission lines
- Expertise in PLS CADD and CYMCAP software
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and GIS
- In depth knowledge of IEC, IEEE, and local (e.g., Saudi Arabian) standards
- Familiarity with construction and installation practices for overhead and underground systems
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Experience conducting site investigations and interpreting geotechnical and survey reports

- Lead and execute the detailed design and analysis of overhead transmission lines (HVAC/HVDC), encompassing route selection, tower spotting, conductor selection, and insulation coordination.
- Utilize industry standard software such as PLS CADD for transmission line design and CYMCAP for cable modeling.
- Employ related analysis tools, including AutoCAD and GIS, for design and visualization purposes.
- Apply a comprehensive understanding of relevant international standards (IEC, IEEE) and local regulations (e.g., Saudi Arabian standards) to all design activities.
- Demonstrate familiarity with construction methodologies, installation techniques, and quality control procedures for both overhead and underground systems.
- Conduct complex technical calculations and provide robust solutions to engineering challenges.
- Identify potential technical risks during the design and construction phases and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Prepare clear, concise, and professional technical reports, specifications, and presentations.
- Effectively coordinate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Conduct site investigations and collect essential data for design purposes.
- Maintain a strong commitment to safety principles and ensure adherence to safety practices.
Here's what you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Proven experience in the detailed design and analysis of high voltage overhead transmission lines
- Demonstrable expertise in using industry standard software for transmission line design (e.g., PLS CADD) and cable modeling (e.g., CYMCAP).
- Proficiency in related analysis tools such as AutoCAD and GIS.
- In depth knowledge of relevant international (IEC, IEEE) and local (e.g., Saudi Arabian standards) codes, standards, and regulations.
