About the Role

- Undertake design and delivery of wet utility infrastructure projects including potable water, wastewater, stormwater and irrigation networks
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, schedules and design drawings
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful integration of wet utility designs
- Support delivery of projects from concept through detailed design and construction stages
- Liaise with clients, utility authorities and other project stakeholders to obtain approvals
- Assist with project planning and programme management
- Review design outputs and support quality assurance processes
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to graduate and engineer level team members
- Contribute to developing innovative and sustainable engineering solutions
- Support proposal preparation and technical input for project bids
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Proven experience in design and delivery of wet utility infrastructure projects
- Strong technical knowledge of water supply, wastewater, stormwater and irrigation systems
- Experience preparing technical reports, specifications, calculations and construction documentation
- Understanding of utility authority standards, requirements and approval processes
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and hydraulic modelling software (WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, InfoDrainage)
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Membership of relevant professional institution or working towards accreditation preferred

Your key duties

- Support the delivery of projects from concept and preliminary design through detailed design and construction stages.
- Liaise with clients, utility authorities and other project stakeholders to obtain approvals and ensure compliance.
- Assist with project planning and programme management to achieve timely and high quality project delivery.
- Review design outputs and support quality assurance processes in accordance with Buro Happold standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to graduate and engineer level team members.
- Contribute to developing innovative and sustainable engineering solutions for utility infrastructure projects.
- Support proposal preparation and technical input for project bids and opportunities.
Your Skills And Experience
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Proven experience in the design and delivery of wet utility infrastructure projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of water supply, wastewater, stormwater and irrigation systems.
- Experience preparing technical reports, specifications, calculations and construction documentation.
- Understanding of utility authority standards, requirements and approval processes.
- Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary project teams.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and relevant hydraulic modelling software such as WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS and/or InfoDrainage.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and technical review skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
