About the Role
Buro Happold is seeking a motivated Graduate Fire Engineer to join their Riyadh office. You will support the development of fire safety strategies, perform engineering calculations, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on high-profile projects.

Responsibilities
- Support the development of fire safety strategies and engineering solutions across a range of projects
- Assist in applying local and international fire codes, standards, and performance based design approaches
- Perform fire engineering calculations, including smoke modeling and evacuation analysis
- Contribute to the selection and integration of fire protection systems such as detection and suppression systems
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams to ensure coordinated and effective design solutions
- Participate in technical discussions and presentations with clients and stakeholders
- Support coordination with local authorities and regulatory bodies in Saudi Arabia
- Attend site visits to review implementation of fire engineering strategies
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Fire Engineering, or a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering with a strong interest in fire engineering
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Good communication skills
- Interest in performance based design and innovative engineering approaches
- Ability to work effectively within a team and manage multiple priorities

Your key duties
- Assist in the design and development of infrastructure projects, water supply systems, and drainage networks.
- Support the development of fire safety strategies and engineering solutions across a range of projects.
- Assist in applying local and international fire codes, standards, and performance based design approaches.
- Perform fire engineering calculations, including smoke modeling and evacuation analysis (ranging from hand calculations to advanced simulation tools).
- Contribute to the selection and integration of fire protection systems such as detection and suppression systems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams to ensure coordinated and effective design solutions.
- Participate in technical discussions and presentations with clients and stakeholders.
- Support coordination with local authorities and regulatory bodies in Saudi Arabia.
- Attend site visits to review implementation of fire engineering strategies.
Your Skills And Experience
- Master’s degree in Fire Engineering, or a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering with a strong interest in fire engineering.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
- Interest in performance based design and innovative engineering approaches.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and manage multiple priorities.
