Role overview
The Senior Electrical Engineer is an advanced subject matter expert for standards, system processes, design and construction, and commissioning.
The role designs, installs, and maintains electrical systems that power and support data center operations.
The role coaches and develops less experienced electrical engineers.
Key responsibilities
- Consult on complex electrical problems in the design and operation of mission-critical systems.
- Develop electrical equipment specifications and redundancy schemes aligned with strategic goals.
- Conduct QA/QC of construction drawings, design documentation, and commissioning test scripts.
- Coordinate with design consultants and construction teams on designs, deliverables, and schedules.
- Review equipment submittals, participate in factory witness testing, and support commissioning.
- Troubleshoot operational problems and conduct root cause and corrective action analysis.
- Review operating procedures and maintenance initiatives for critical facility operations.
- Support RFP responses, client site visits, training, and client fit-out design reviews.
Knowledge and skills
- Expert knowledge of data center electrical system design, power distribution, and mission-critical topologies.
