Overview

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for its British Columbia Engineering group.

The role provides technical expertise and leadership across building electrical engineering projects.

Projects span defense, transportation, municipal, nuclear, healthcare, industrial, and institutional sectors.

Your role

  • Prepare fee estimates, project estimates, design reports, and other technical documents.
  • Develop electrical diagrams, schematics, wiring schemes, panel schedules, cable schedules, and grounding plans.
  • Perform coordination studies, arc flash calculations, site inspections, and construction technical support.
  • Supervise and mentor engineers, designers, and CAD technicians.
  • Support proposals, technical bid evaluations, strategic planning, and business development.
  • Build client relationships and support business growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Assess resources and contribute to recruitment, performance, training, and development processes.
  • Apply project management principles and coordinate with other engineering disciplines.
  • Communicate project status, issues, and solutions to clients, management, and other stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement in tools, processes, and project delivery efficiency.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer registration with EGBC and willingness to join other provincial bodies.
  • Minimum 12 years of relevant electrical engineering consulting experience.
  • At least three years managing or coordinating technical teams.
  • Experience supervising, mentoring, and motivating engineers and designers.
  • Strong electrical engineering principles, standards, business acumen, and client-facing skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within and outside British Columbia.
  • Ability to apply for and obtain client-required security clearances.

Preferred qualification

  • PMP designation or CAPM certification is an asset.

Compensation

  • Expected annual compensation is between $120,000 and $150,000.
  • Base salary considers skills, experience, potential impact, and internal and external competitiveness.

  • The role is based with the Engineering Services team in Vancouver.
