Job summary
HMRC is transforming the UK tax system through digital innovation in its Chief Digital and Information Officer Group.
The Enterprise Cloud Services team designs, builds, automates, and operates secure cloud services for millions of citizens.
The Senior DevOps Platform Engineer will deliver secure, resilient, and scalable cloud platform services.
Key responsibilities
- Build, automate, and operate cloud platform services using Terraform and an automation-first approach.
- Design, standardize, and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines with testing, security scanning, compliance checks, and reusable templates.
- Apply cloud security best practices, support audits, and meet compliance requirements.
- Optimize platform performance, reliability, cost, and operational efficiency through monitoring and analysis.
- Provide technical guidance, troubleshoot complex engineering issues, and share best practices.
- Support and mentor engineering teams through complex technical challenges.
Technical experience
- Enterprise-scale AWS or Azure cloud platform experience.
- CI/CD tooling services experience with GitLab, Artifactory, Jira, or Confluence.
