Senior DevOps Engineer

Location and Employment

About the Role

Infrastructure and Environments

• Design, provision, configure, and maintain cloud and dedicated physical servers and infrastructure.
• Configure operating systems, networking, storage, firewalls, access controls, and services.
• Maintain production availability, reliability, capacity, documentation, and configuration standards.
• Own development, testing, staging, and production environments and keep them isolated, secure, reproducible, and consistent.

CI/CD and Automation

• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automate application builds, testing, deployment, rollback, infrastructure provisioning, backups, monitoring, and environments.
• Implement safe, observable, recoverable deployments and reduce manual operational work.
• Work with engineering teams to improve deployment workflows.

Security

• Manage server hardening, SSH and secure remote access, identity and access management, role-based access control, secrets, firewalls, and production access.
• Monitor suspicious activity, apply security patches, manage vulnerabilities, and protect data transfers and storage.
• Apply least-privilege access and secure developer access to infrastructure.

Backups and Reliability

• Design automated backups for databases, application data, files, and critical infrastructure.
• Maintain retention policies, secure separate backup storage, job monitoring, restore testing, disaster recovery procedures, and recovery objectives.
• Monitor infrastructure and applications, configure alerts, investigate incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and improve resilience.

Required Experience and Skills

• Five-plus years of professional DevOps, infrastructure, or SRE experience is required.
• Strong Linux, production server, cloud, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, Docker, networking, security, backup, monitoring, scripting, automation, troubleshooting, and Git experience is required.
• The engineer should work independently, handle incidents under pressure, document infrastructure, and explain technical decisions clearly.

Highly Desirable Technologies

• AWS, Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Docker, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Nginx, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, Cloudflare, object storage, CDN architecture, and multi-region infrastructure are highly desirable.
• Experience with infrastructure security, performance and capacity planning, high-volume data or media infrastructure, dedicated servers, and disaster recovery is highly desirable.

Success Measures

• Infrastructure is stable, secure, documented, monitored, and scalable.
• Deployments are automated and predictable, production access is controlled and auditable, and backups run automatically and are regularly tested.
• Failures are detected and recovered from quickly, and new servers and environments can be provisioned efficiently.
