Job Purpose
The Senior Design Manager – MEP is responsible for managing the design, coordination, and delivery of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across assigned projects.
The role focuses on ensuring high-quality MEP designs, compliance with standards, and effective coordination with internal teams and external consultants to achieve project objectives efficiently.
Responsibilties
- Manage the design and development of MEP systems across multiple projects from concept to detailed design stages
- Coordinate with consultants and internal disciplines (Architecture, Structural, Construction) to ensure integrated design delivery
- Review MEP drawings, calculations, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements and standards
- Support the development of project timelines, resource plans, and deliverables schedules
- Monitor progress of design deliverables and ensure timely submission
- Conduct site visits and coordinate with site teams to ensure implementation aligns with design intent and quality standards
- Assist in resolving technical issues during design and construction phases
- Contribute to value engineering initiatives and cost optimization without compromising quality
- Support sustainability and energy-efficient design strategies in line with project goals
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation as required
- Maintain proper documentation and records of design development
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in MEP design and coordination
- Proven experience in managing mid-to-large scale projects
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems, codes, and standards (ASHRAE, NEC, local regulations)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, ETAP, Dialux, or similar tools
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines
