About the Role
State Street is seeking a Senior Data Scientist, Vice President to design and deliver advanced AI solutions for Internal Audit Functions. Responsibilities
- Lead end to end design of advanced analytics and AI solutions for complex audit challenges
- Define solution architecture and strategic direction, evaluating multiple design patterns
- Drive rapid prototyping and iterative delivery with structured stakeholder feedback
- Establish and own model selection frameworks for statistical, ML, SLM, and LLM solutions
- Design, develop, and refine advanced models generating actionable audit relevant insights
- Act as primary interface with Model Risk Management and governance functions
- Lead governance for GenAI/LLM solutions including prompt strategy, output reliability, and human in the loop controls
- Define and lead data strategy for AI use cases in partnership with data governance and engineering
- Architect robust evaluation, validation, and monitoring frameworks
- Serve as trusted advisor to Internal Audit, Technology, and senior leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or related quantitative field
- 7 10+ years of progressively senior experience in data science, machine learning, or advanced analytics
- Expert level Python and advanced SQL skills
- Deep experience architecting, developing, and deploying enterprise grade ML solutions in AWS (including SageMaker)
- Proven track record of delivering and operationalizing models in complex, regulated environments
- Strong understanding of model risk management frameworks and data governance principles
- Experience with large scale data platforms (SQL, Spark, Databricks)

- Set best practices for feature engineering, model architecture, and experimentation
- Clearly articulate, defend, and document modeling decisions
- Act as primary interface with Model Risk Management and governance functions
- Embed controls by design into all models and solutions
- Lead governance for GenAI/LLM solutions
- Anticipate emerging regulatory and risk considerations
