Role Overview
Abbott Diabetes Care is seeking a Controls Engineer to join the Operations Group at its Witney production facility.
The role supports manufacturing operations for glucose monitoring electrodes and biosensors.
The position focuses on control systems technology, automation problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Provide innovative solutions to control systems and manufacturing automation problems.
- Work across the manufacturing area of the operations facility.
- Interpret PLC code, debug issues and support continuous improvement activities.
- Develop solutions for complex automation requirements.
- Support automated machinery involving PLC, HMI and motion-control systems.
- Collaborate with engineering colleagues on manufacturing automation systems.
- Follow regulated procedures and create accurate technical documentation.
Requirements
- Experience working on automation projects and developing solutions to complex automation needs.
- HNC-level or higher qualification in Electrical, Electronic or Control Engineering, or proven industry experience supported by a recognized engineering apprenticeship.
