About the Role

FTI Consulting is seeking an experienced Senior Trade Services Specialist with 4+ years of hands-on trade compliance and international trade experience to support the delivery of Trade Services engagements.

The Senior Trade Services Specialist is a hands-on trade compliance practitioner responsible for executing client work and delivering accurate, timely, and well-documented trade compliance services. The role will perform detailed activities across areas such as customs, tariff classification, valuation, country of origin, tariff mitigation, Foreign-Trade Zones (FTZs), duty drawback, import operations, and related compliance requirements.

The successful candidate will work independently on assigned activities, manage multiple priorities, analyze trade data and documentation, prepare workpapers and deliverables, and execute operational activities supporting client trade compliance programs and managed services.

This is an execution-focused role rather than a strategy, advisory, or engagement leadership role. The Senior Trade Services Specialist is expected to perform assigned activities independently, resolve routine issues, and escalate matters requiring additional technical or engagement-level review.

What You’ll Do

Execute day-to-day and project-based trade compliance activities in accordance with client requirements, FTI methodologies, and applicable laws and regulations

Review customs entries, import transactions, commercial documentation, broker data, and other trade records for accuracy and compliance

Perform tariff classification, country-of-origin, valuation, tariff, and duty analyses and prepare supporting documentation

Execute assigned tariff mitigation, duty drawback, and other duty recovery activities

Execute assigned FTZ activities, including admissions, inventory controls, reconciliations, exports, zone-to-entry transactions, and related compliance activities, as applicable

Perform importer-of-record and import operations activities, including entry review, exception management, and post-entry processes

Analyze trade data to identify errors, discrepancies, missing information, and potential compliance issues

Prepare and maintain workpapers, calculations, reconciliations, audit-ready files, reports, procedures, and other client deliverables

Perform recurring compliance reviews and operational activities required under managed services engagements

Track and resolve routine exceptions and coordinate with clients, customs brokers, logistics providers, and FTI team members as necessary

Support client implementations and transitions by completing assigned data, documentation, process, and operational activities

Perform quality-control reviews and meet established service levels, deadlines, productivity requirements, and quality standards

Provide technical guidance to less-experienced team members on established trade compliance processes and procedures

How You’ll Grow

We are committed to investing and supporting you in your professional development and have developed a range of programs focused on fostering leadership, growth, and development opportunities. We aim to promote continuous learning and individual skills development through on-the-job learning, self-guided professional development courses and certifications. You’ll be assigned a dedicated coach to mentor, guide, and support you through regular coaching sessions and serve as an advocate for your professional growth.

As you progress through your career at FTI Consulting, we offer tailored programs for critical professional milestones to ensure you are prepared and empowered to take on your next role.
