Job Description

  • WSP in the middle east seeks to hire a Senior Communications Manager. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Marketing & Communications EMEIAA, the successful candidate will actively contribute to the direction and implementation of communications initiatives, particularly but not exclusive to ex

Responsibilities

  • Develop and support the implementation of communication strategies and plans that align with WSP’s brand, values, and business objectives.
  • Lead the external component of major corporate communications projects and initiatives, including the executive positioning, media & institution relations, and issues/crisis management.
  • Proactively manage the external communications calendar, including external executive positioning.
  • Establish constructive and trusting relationships with stakeholders, including partnering with the functional Leads team to promote stories that will increase profile, visibility of our projects, and attract talent.
  • Work closely with other teams to ensure consistent messaging and alignment.
  • Craft compelling external communication materials, including press releases, articles, key messages, presentations, and multimedia content.
  • Create executive positioning plans for the Middle East C Suite and maintain strong press contacts across core trade and business media.
  • Ensure quality communications that are consistently delivered on time and on brand.
  • Evaluate the performance and impact of external communications and current practices and processes, and establish mechanisms for their continual improvement.
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends and best practices in external communications.
  • Support the Internal Communications team with mentoring and development opportunities.
  • Liaison with the Managing Directors of each business to identify Major Opportunities Areas' geography.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related fields.
  • Proven communications professional with 10+ years of experience in Communications, including a minimum of solid experience in managing a media relations programme.
  • Solid experience in the development of external communications programs.
  • Superior professional Arabic and English language skills, written and spoken.
  • Comfortable in a fast paced role, proven ability to be hands on and strategic.
  • University degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related discipline.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and senior management, with a client oriented, agile, and solution focused approach.
  • Demonstrated copywriting and editing capabilities with a keen ability to synthesize complex business matters.
  • Motivated by teamwork, collaboration, and the achievement of concrete results.
  • High level of professionalism, rigour, and ethics in all activities and interactions.
