Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of Fire & Life Safety strategies, reports, and technical deliverables
- Perform research to inform performance based design engineering analysis
- Assist in the development and preparation of Fire Engineering Briefs and fire test methodologies
- Support life safety design reviews, including means of egress, fire zoning, and occupancy calculations
- Assist with code compliance checks against relevant standards (UAE Fire & Life Safety Code, IBC, NFPA, British Standards)
- Support coordination with architecture, MEP, and structural teams to integrate fire safety requirements
- Assist in preparing authority submission documents and responding to review comments under supervision
- Participate in site visits and inspections, supporting senior engineers during construction stages
- Maintain project documentation and support internal quality processes
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
- Basic understanding of fire protection systems, life safety principles, and building codes
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English

Job Description
- WSP in the Middle East is seeking a motivated Intern – Fire & Life Safety to support our specialist Fire & Life Safety team on a range of building and infrastructure projects.
- This internship offers hands‑on exposure to fire engineering, life‑safety design, and regulatory compliance within a multidisciplinary consultancy environment.
- The role is ideal for students or recent graduates eager to gain practical experience and build a foundation in Fire & Life Safety engineering.
