Position and Project
KBR is seeking a Senior Civil/Roads Engineer for the Majnoon Project.
The role covers road infrastructure design for access roads, internal plant roads, heavy haul roads, and paved areas.
Work spans greenfield and brownfield developments from concept through detailed design and construction support.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead road, paving, and associated infrastructure design from conceptual stage through detailed design and construction.
- Prepare road alignments, geometric designs, pavement designs, and cross-sections.
- Perform flexible and rigid pavement design calculations for traffic, soil, and environmental conditions.
- Design drainage systems, culverts, ditches, and stormwater networks integrated with site grading and utilities.
- Prepare technical specifications, material take-offs, and scopes of work for road construction packages.
- Review and approve road layouts, profiles, and detail drawings.
- Coordinate road-related interfaces with structural, process, pipelines, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines.
- Provide tendering and construction-phase technical support.
- Conduct value engineering while maintaining safety, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
- A Master’s degree in Highway or Road Engineering is preferred.
- 8–12 years of relevant road and pavement design experience is required.
- Experience with greenfield and brownfield projects, heavy haul roads, and plant internal roads is required.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley OpenRoads, or equivalent software is required.
- Knowledge of pavement design methods and geotechnical input is required.
- Familiarity with drainage, culvert design, and road safety standards is required.
- Experience preparing specifications, bills of quantities, and tender documents is required.
- Middle East experience is highly advantageous, and Iraqi standards knowledge is a plus.
