Senior Civil Engineer – Technical Office / Site Execution

Opportunity

Technical Office Responsibilities

• Review civil and structural drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports, and bills of quantities for discrepancies and constructability issues.
• Prepare or review shop drawings, reinforcement details, bar bending schedules, construction details, and quantity take-offs.
• Coordinate structural elements, openings, sleeves, embedded items, levels, and architectural and MEP interfaces.
• Prepare RFIs, technical submittals, material approvals, method statements, inspection documentation, and as-built records.
• Coordinate with site teams, procurement, suppliers, subcontractors, and consultants while maintaining submission and approval registers.

Site Execution Responsibilities

• Plan daily activities and supervise foremen, subcontractors, and site teams across earthworks, foundations, reinforced concrete, waterproofing, and external civil works.
• Verify site readiness, setting-out, dimensions, levels, materials, manpower, equipment, reinforcement, formwork, concrete cover, and embedded items.
• Implement approved method statements, temporary works requirements, inspection and test plans, and required soil, concrete, and waterproofing tests.
• Inspect workmanship, attend consultant inspections, close non-conformances, track progress and quantities, and provide handover information.
• Monitor safety, PPE, housekeeping, access, working practices, and hazards involving excavation, lifting, work at height, formwork, and equipment.

Common Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and at least five years of relevant experience, including at least three years in Saudi Arabia.
• Experience on large-scale hospitality, commercial, and residential projects with clear personal responsibilities.
• Knowledge of Saudi construction practices, Saudi Building Code requirements, project specifications, and multidisciplinary drawing coordination.
• Ability to prepare technical correspondence and reports in English, with accuracy, accountability, follow-up, problem-solving, and deadline management.
• Applicants must currently be based in Saudi Arabia and available for immediate full-time work in Riyadh.

Technical Office Track

• Hands-on technical office experience with a contractor or comparable construction delivery role.
• Ability to prepare and review shop drawings, reinforcement details, bar bending schedules, and quantity take-offs.
• Strong understanding of reinforced concrete construction, detailing, materials, and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Advanced AutoCAD and Excel proficiency, with ability to interpret structural designs and identify matters requiring designer clarification or approval.

Site Execution Track

• Direct site execution experience with construction contractors.
• Practical knowledge of earthworks, reinforced concrete, formwork, reinforcement, waterproofing, and external civil works.
• Ability to manage subcontractors and crews through inspection and completion and independently verify corrective actions.
• Experience with testing, consultant inspections, progress reporting, handover, construction safety, and occupational health.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience delivering building projects or major packages through multiple stages to handover.
• Experience in both technical office and site execution.
• Familiarity with Revit Structure, BIM coordination, and Navisworks.
• Relevant training in quality inspection, construction safety, or planning.
