Senior BIM Coordinator - MEP

Senior BIM Coordinator responsible for leading the Building Information Modelling (BIM) coordination of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health) building services across a diverse portfolio of built environment projects throughout the Middle East.

Take ownership of MEP BIM coordination packages, provide technical leadership to BIM team members, and act as the primary BIM interface with clients, architects, contractors and regulatory authorities.

Capable of independently delivering BIM coordination solutions from design through construction support whilst maintaining technical excellence, model quality and high-quality digital project delivery.

QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architectural Technology, Construction Management or related field.

Membership of a professional institution (CIBSE, ASHRAE, IET, IEEE or equivalent) preferred.

Progressing towards professional accreditation (Preferred).

Minimum of over 5 years' experience in MEP BIM Coordination within a building services consultancy.

Strong knowledge of MEP building services systems and their BIM representation.

Proficiency in BIM software such as: Revit (MEP specialism) Navisworks Manage BIM 360 / ACC Dynamo (advantageous) Proficiency in clash detection and model coordination workflows.

Strong understanding of ISO 19650, BIM Level 2 / LOD standards.

Familiarity with UAE / GCC codes and regulations related to MEP system design.

GENERAL EXPECTANCY Lead the BIM coordination and delivery of MEP building services systems across multiple projects.

Own the BIM execution strategy and model coordination approach for assigned projects.

Review and approve the work of BIM Coordinators and Modellers across all MEP disciplines.

Mentor and develop junior team members.

Provide technical guidance on complex BIM coordination challenges.

Lead model coordination reviews and interdisciplinary clash resolution workshops.

Support project directors and associates in digital delivery decision-making.

Lead the BIM coordination of MEP systems including: Mechanical Systems HVAC Systems Central chilled water systems District cooling interfaces Airside distribution systems Ventilation systems Smoke management systems Electrical Systems LV Power Distribution Systems Small Power Systems Lighting Systems Emergency Lighting Systems Fire Alarm Systems UPS and Standby Power Systems Public Health & Fire Systems Domestic Cold and Hot Water Systems Water Storage and Drainage Systems Automatic Sprinkler Systems Riser and Hose Reel Systems Coordinate MEP models with Architectural, Structural and other design disciplines. Perform and review clash detection and model coordination checks. Develop and maintain BIM execution plans and project-specific standards. Oversee model quality audits and compliance checks. Manage model exchange and federation workflows. Review specialist contractor models and submittals. Develop technical reports and model coordination documentation. Maintain Revit families, templates and project libraries. PROJECT DELIVERY Manage MEP BIM workstreams on medium and large projects. Plan BIM resource requirements and model delivery schedules. Monitor programme compliance and model milestone delivery. Coordinate MEP BIM deliverables with project managers. Participate in client presentations and technical workshops. Develop BIM execution strategies and digital delivery plans. Identify project risks and mitigation measures related to model coordination.
