About Seera
Seera is an Arabic-language microdrama streaming platform serving the MENA market.
The platform distributes short-form vertical series and monetizes through in-app coins and subscriptions.
The engineering group is distributed across Eastern Europe and the Caucasus and is scaling for rapid growth in viewers, content, and transactions.
The Role
Own a large share of the backend APIs supporting mobile and web applications and the AWS infrastructure they run on.
Work directly with the CTO and engineering manager on architecture for video delivery, payments, and content operations.
This is a senior, high-ownership role focused on operating systems at scale with substantial autonomy.
What You Will Do
- Design, build, and maintain APIs for content catalogs, playback, accounts, entitlements, coin wallets, and subscriptions.
- Own AWS architecture, infrastructure as code, IAM, networking, cost management, observability, and CI/CD.
- Build and operate ingest, transcoding, HLS/DASH packaging, DRM, and CDN video delivery.
- Integrate payment, carrier billing, advertising mediation, and analytics services securely and reliably.
- Establish monitoring, alerting, and on-call practices for a consumer streaming product.
- Create technical design documents, conduct code reviews, and mentor a distributed team.
What We Are Looking For
- 5–8 years building production backend systems, including consumer products at meaningful scale.
- Deep hands-on AWS experience with services such as ECS/EKS or Lambda, RDS/DynamoDB, S3, CloudFront, and MediaConvert.
- Video systems, transcoding, adaptive bitrate streaming, CDN configuration, or DRM experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong judgment in API design, authentication, data modeling, caching, and performance under load.
- Comfort working autonomously in a remote, async-first team across multiple time zones.
- Professional working proficiency in English is required; Arabic is a plus but not required.
Nice to Have
- Experience with payments or subscription billing systems.
- Prior startup or 0-to-1 experience.

- Full-time employment with fully remote work within Eastern Europe, Azerbaijan, or MENA.
