The company is hiring for a high-impact software engineering role supporting maritime-sector digital transformation.
Purpose of Role
Own the architecture, design, development, and testing of scalable Compliance and RegTech solutions.
Build secure, high-performance applications with Django REST Framework and Python for onboarding, risk assessment, and regulatory screening.
Own code and tests, build robust APIs and integrations, and collaborate with product, UX, and compliance teams.
Responsibilities
- Build and own APIs for onboarding, screening, and entity intelligence with performance, versioning, and auditability.
- Add search, risk scoring, relationship mapping, and other data-driven product capabilities.
- Integrate Elasticsearch and other platforms or services for scalable analytics and compliance automation.
- Embed unit, integration, and end-to-end testing into development using a shift-left approach.
- Apply secure coding, GDPR, ISO 27001, data modeling, and ETL best practices.
- Maintain secure, scalable, accurate, consistent, and maintainable full-stack applications.
- Track emerging developments in full-stack engineering, AI, and compliance automation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of full-stack development experience, primarily with Python and Django REST Framework.
- Experience designing scalable and secure applications, system architecture, APIs, and production data pipelines.
- Experience with agile, remote-first collaboration, code reviews, pair programming, and mentoring.
- Strong Python, Django, and Django REST Framework experience for API development.
- Experience with SQL Server or a similar database system, API security, authentication, and access control.
- Familiarity with asynchronous processing, debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Master’s degree, relevant certifications, maritime experience, AI experience, and Elasticsearch experience are advantageous.
Core Engineering Skills
- Python, Django, and Django REST Framework.
- Microsoft SQL Server or a similar database system.
- OAuth2, JWT, role-based access control, and API security practices.
- Celery, Redis, or similar asynchronous task-processing tools.
- Elasticsearch, relationship graph modeling, and data processing pipelines.
- AI agents, LLMs, machine learning, NLP, entity resolution, graph-based AI, and risk scoring are advantageous.
