About the Role

Support developmental flight testing of new aircraft and missile system products as an Airframe and Power Plant mechanic.

Provide mechanical expertise across aircraft and missile systems maintenance.

Coordinate aircraft mechanical assessment, maintenance, flight execution, and reporting on flying-systems readiness.

Work with program leadership and cross-functional teams to support test and evaluation activities.

Aircraft and System Work

  • Assist with aircraft fabrication, assembly, structural work, mechanical integration, composite fabrication, and avionics build, integration, and testing.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain landing gear, fuel systems, flight controls, propulsion, aircraft, and subsystems.
  • Use rivets, mechanical fasteners, nut plates, and other common airframe construction techniques.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain site support equipment.

Testing and Documentation

  • Complete maintenance manuals, checklists, flight logs, and other aircraft and equipment documentation.
  • Communicate mechanical assessments with engineering and production.
  • Test electronic components using multimeters, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and test racks.
  • Perform foreign object debris and tool control practices.
  • Operate forklifts and pallet jacks and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Airframe and Powerplant license.
  • At least 5 years of airframe and power plant experience.
  • At least 3 years of missile or rocket system development experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with standard computer applications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform electronics troubleshooting and repair.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to travel for test planning and execution and work extended hours as required.
  • Ability to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance.

Working Conditions

  • The role requires standing and walking for long periods.
  • The role may require extended hours and travel for test planning and execution.

Compensation

  • The US hourly compensation range is $47 to $62 USD.
  • The stated range is base salary only and actual offers may vary based on experience, education, training, skills, and business considerations.
