Job Summary

  • Our client, a multinational automobile company based in Dubai, is looking for a Senior Accountant.
  • This role will be responsible for overseeing day to day accounting activities, monthly and quarterly reporting, payroll related accounting, vendor payments, budgeting support, VAT compliance and other finance related activities.
  • The role will also supervise one Accountant and support the strengthening of finance processes as the Dubai office evolves from a Representative Office to a more independent operating structure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the accounting activities of the Dubai office and ensure accurate and timely recording and monitoring of transactions and cashflows.
  • Manage month end, year end closing activities and preparation of periodic financial reports for management and Head Office.
  • Ensure proper accounting treatment, reconciliations, supporting documentation, and compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Monitor general ledger balances, accruals, prepayments, and other accounting schedules.
  • Oversee vendor payments, office and utility related payments, expense postings, and other operating disbursements.
  • Monitor receipts, bank transactions, petty cash, and fund management.
  • Ensure timely bank reconciliations, payment controls, and proper cash flow monitoring.
  • Maintain proper control over cheque preparation, bank transfers, and payment processing.
  • Oversee payroll related accounting for local and expatriate employees, including reimbursements, deductions, adjustments, and related reconciliations.
  • Ensure proper accounting and control of employee related payments and salary transfers.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure payroll accuracy and timely processing.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget for the Administration Department, including quarterly budget revisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent is preferred.
  • Minimum 7 10 years of relevant accounting experience, including at least 2 3 years in a senior or supervisory accounting role.
  • Strong experience in financial accounting, month end and year end closing, payments, reconciliations, payroll accounting, budgeting, and VAT.
  • UAE accounting experience is required.
  • Experience with Sage or similar accounting/ERP systems is required.
  • Exposure to SAP or ERP migration projects will be an advantage.
  • Experience in a multinational or regional office environment will be preferred.
  • Experience in a trading, automotive, motorcycle, or commercial business environment will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in asset control, stock taking and support for internal admin/business projects will be an advantage.

Compensation

  • Salary: 18000 19000 Package (monthly)
