Role Description

The Senior Accountant's responsibilities include maintaining the general ledger, reconciling accounts, preparing financial reports, supporting statutory audits and tax filings.

The ideal candidate has an experience in a manufacturing environment, in cost accounting, a good general ERP knowledge and ensures books are accurate and timely, as well as in compliance with Saudi Arabia GAAP and MASQ internal policies.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable

• VAT & PAYROLL KNOWLEDGE

  • Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
  • Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
  • Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
  • Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process
  • Provide input into department’s goal setting process
  • Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule
  • Assist with tax audits and tax returns
  • Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance
  • Plan, assign and review staff’s work
  • Support month-end and year-end close process
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
  • Liaise with our chief Accountant and Accounting Manager to improve financial procedures Requirements and skills
  • In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Awareness of business trends
  • Familiarity with financial accounting statements
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process

Minimum & Preferred Qualifications And Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant financial experience in a multinational environment with at least 2 years in similar role
  • Hands-On experience and strong general understanding of ERP systems required
  • preferably Dynamics or Business Central 365
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including V lookups and pivot tables
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Must be able to meet the deadline for month-end close and year-end close.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Driven, able to work independently in an efficient manner and keen to take on new responsibilities
  • Pro-active, team player oriented, reliable, and hands-on approach
  • Willingness and ability to recognize and adapt to changing business requirements
  • Fluent in Arabic and English, both verbal and written
