Senior Accountant

Role Overview

Accounting Operations

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Process supplier invoices, payments, customer receipts, and credit notes.
• Perform supplier and customer account reconciliations.
• Monitor overdue receivables and follow up on customer balances.
• Ensure timely supplier payment processing and settlement.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.

Reporting and Controls

• Prepare monthly account reconciliations and assist with month-end closing.
• Monitor customer credit limits, payment terms, and outstanding balances.
• Assist with cash flow monitoring and working capital management.
• Support monthly financial reports and management accounts.
• Review transactions for accuracy, completeness, and policy compliance.
• Identify discrepancies and support improvements to accounting processes and controls.

Tax and Stakeholder Coordination

• Assist with VAT-related accounting and documentation in line with UAE requirements.
• Liaise with internal departments, suppliers, customers, and auditors as required.

Candidate Profile

• A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline is required.
• 5–8 years of relevant accounting experience is required.
• FMCG, distribution, trading, or retail experience is preferred.
• Strong hands-on accounts payable and accounts receivable experience is required.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and month-end closing procedures is required.
• ERP or accounting systems experience is required.
• SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar system knowledge is advantageous.
• Strong Excel skills, including reconciliations and financial analysis, are required.
• Knowledge of UAE VAT and general UAE accounting practices is required.
