Job Description

  • We are seeking an exceptional and passionate Secondary Inclusion Teacher to join our dedicated Inclusion team.
  • This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner who is committed to ensuring that all students can access a meaningful, personalised, and engaging education.
  • We are particularly interested in candidates with experience working within specialist SEN schools, specialist provisions, resource bases, or highly inclusive educational settings.

Experience

  • Supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), communication and interaction needs, moderate to severe learning difficulties, and complex learning needs.
  • Planning, delivering, and evaluating personalised learning programmes that are tailored to individual student needs, strengths, and outcomes.
  • Implementing a range of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) approaches, including PECS, communication boards, core vocabulary systems, and high tech communication devices and applications.
  • Developing, monitoring, and reviewing individual learning targets while effectively tracking and evidencing student progress against agreed outcomes.
  • Creating communication friendly learning environments through the use of visual supports, structured teaching strategies, assistive technology, and evidence based interventions.
  • Supporting students' social, emotional, behavioural, and communication development through targeted and individualised approaches.
  • Working collaboratively with parents, carers, therapists, and external professionals to ensure consistency and continuity between home and school.
  • Maintaining accurate records, contributing to individual support plans, annual reviews, EHCP style documentation, and multidisciplinary meetings where required.

Skills

  • Holds a recognised teaching qualification and relevant degree.
  • Has experience teaching secondary aged students with additional learning needs.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills.
  • Is reflective, adaptable, and committed to inclusive educational practice.
  • Has a genuine passion for supporting students with SEND and enabling them to achieve meaningful outcomes both academically and personally.
