School Operations Manager

Role Overview

Job Purpose

• Ensure smooth, compliant, and cost-effective delivery of campus operations.
• Report to the Head of Business Operations and work closely with the Principal across procurement, facilities, health and safety, events, ESG, and shared services.
• Support regulatory readiness and school improvement plans through cross-functional coordination.

Staff Management

• Lead the Facilities Manager, Procurement Assistant, IT Assistant, and Head Nurse.
• Monitor accountabilities and KPIs, support professional development, conduct appraisals, and address performance issues.
• Ensure supervised staff follow school policies and procedures.

Purchasing and Contracts

• Oversee operational budgets, purchase orders, procurement documentation, vendor payments, and delegation-of-authority compliance.
• Monitor advance payments, credit card use, asset tagging, and vendor quality performance.

Health and Safety

• Lead Taaleem and regulatory health and safety protocols and maintain risk assessments, inspections, drill records, and related documentation.
• Chair HSE meetings, manage incident reporting, coordinate investigations, and lead government inspections.

Facilities and Compliance

• Monitor maintenance budgets and delivery, escalate operational risks, and oversee CCTV compliance.
• Renew key licenses, maintain inspection records, report non-conformance, and monitor adherence to local authority policies.

Events and Shared Services

• Oversee approvals for school events and field trips and coordinate transport and third-party vendors.
• Coordinate transport, catering, after-school activities, and uniform providers, including space allocation and performance management.

ESG and Campus Development

• Lead sustainability, waste reduction, recycling, equipment upcycling, and utility reduction initiatives.
• Support strategic campus planning and oversee approved capital improvement projects and building modification approvals.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant operational qualification.
• 3–5 years of experience in operations, ideally in education, facilities, or service-driven environments.
• NEBOSH and IOSH qualifications are preferred.
• Relevant capabilities include operations coordination, vendor oversight, health and safety, procurement control, problem-solving, and crisis response.
