About the Role
MDA Space is seeking a SAR Payload Product Manager to own the product roadmap, strategy, and requirements for Synthetic Aperture Radar payload products. The role involves leading product development, market analysis, and intellectual property management.

Responsibilities
- Own product roadmap, vision, strategy, requirements, and architecture based on customer inputs, market analysis, and business objectives
- Perform product/market assessment as input to product development and marketing plans
- Communicate vision, roadmap, and requirements to Product Development Team(s)
- Act as product design authority within product development and program teams
- Present product roadmaps to internal stakeholders and external customers
- Propose internal R&D activities aligned with business objectives and future market needs
- Identify external funding opportunities for product development and lead proposal development
- Manage small to medium internally and externally funded development programs
- Promote technology innovation and manage IP portfolio including patent registration
- Support product bids and proposals including costing, pricing, and proposal package preparation
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Engineering or equivalent technical degree
- 5+ years experience in SAR; space experience is an asset
- Excellent analytical and innovation capabilities
- Strong business sense to find optimum solutions from technical/risk/schedule/cost perspective
- Excellent industry and market awareness
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities
- Self motivated with good interpersonal skills
- Team player with high level of integrity
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure

Summary
- The SAR Payload Product Manager is part of the Office of the Chief Architect and has design authority for one or more SAR Payload products.
- Owns product roadmap, strategy, and requirements while managing product development and IP portfolio.
Tasks
- Own product roadmap, vision, strategy, requirements and architecture based on customer inputs, market analysis, competitive assessment, and business objectives.
- Perform product/market assessment as input to product development and marketing plans.
- Communicate vision, roadmap, and requirements to Product Development Team(s).
- Act as product design authority within product development and program teams.
- Present product roadmaps to internal stakeholders and external customers.
- Propose internal R&D activities aligned with business objectives and future market needs.
- Identify external funding opportunities and lead proposal development.
- Manage small to medium development programs adhering to best practices.
- Provide product direction to Program Management Office for large programs.
- Establish long term relationships with technology development partners.
- Provide inputs to yearly internal R&D plan.
- Promote technology innovation and manage IP portfolio including patent registration.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor degree in Engineering or equivalent technical degree.
- Master or PhD degree an asset.
- 5+ years experience in SAR; space experience is an asset.
- Excellent analytical and innovation capabilities.
- Strong business sense to find optimum solutions from technical/risk/schedule/cost perspective.
- Excellent industry and market awareness.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Self motivated with good interpersonal skills.

Comments/Special Considerations
- Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at SECRET status level II.
- Must pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
