Job Description

  • The Sanitation Technician supports food manufacturing operations by performing cleaning and sanitation activities to ensure equipment, work areas, and facilities meet food safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Hours: Monday Friday 8:45 pm 5 am, some overtime and weekends required.

What you’ll do

  • Perform routine sanitation and cleaning of production equipment, tools, and facility areas.
  • Operate sanitation equipment such as steam pressure hoses, chemical foamers, and cleaning systems.
  • Disassemble, clean, and reassemble production equipment as required.
  • Mix and apply cleaning and sanitizing chemicals according to approved concentrations.
  • Verify sanitation effectiveness using approved tools and methods.
  • Document completion of sanitation tasks accurately.
  • Follow food safety, GMP, and sanitation requirements.
  • Use proper lockout/tagout procedures and required PPE.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards and ensure audit readiness.
  • Communicate sanitation issues to leaders or quality partners.
  • Support production or sanitation team needs as assigned.

What you will need to succeed

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to follow sanitation procedures, chemical handling instructions, and safety guidelines.
  • Ability to read and understand chemical labels, safety data, and SOPs.
  • Basic math skills to measure and calculate chemical concentrations.
  • Ability to accurately complete sanitation documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to hygiene and food safety.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work in wet, hot, noisy environments and around chemicals.
  • Commitment to workplace safety, including PPE use and safety protocols.
