Purpose of position
Assist with selling complex scientific and technological products or services where technical expertise is needed to fit client requirements.
Maintain product, process, and industry knowledge while working within the Bureau Veritas quality system and code of ethics.
Sales and customer development
- Identify customer needs and engineer adaptations of B&I services, products, equipment, and solutions.
- Establish rapport with potential and existing customers to understand current and future service requirements.
- Respond to customer questions and requests and provide technical and application support to sales teams and customers.
- Prepare proposals, quotations, technical product selections, costings, specifications, and workable solutions from customer enquiries.
Planning and reporting
- Develop yearly and quarterly sales plans and define sales targets within the business line action plan.
- Analyze monthly results and initiate actions with the business line operations manager.
- Track marketing and sales performance, including realized days, services, reporting, and productivity ratios.
- Prepare monthly reports and reports from site visits for business line management.
Product and market knowledge
- Maintain expertise in business products, processes, operations, industry news, pricing, and competitive information.
- Prepare instructional, descriptive, application, and competitive product literature and periodic reports.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge through workshops, publications, networks, and communication with colleagues and clients.
Compliance and safety
- Observe QHSSE policies and procedures and comply with ethical policies and the Bureau Veritas code of ethics.
- Wear PPE during inspections, attend required project safety orientations, and promote a positive health culture within the project team.
- Carry out additional duties allocated by the project director or client.
Qualifications and experience
- Graduate with a minimum of five years of sales experience.
- Sales experience in core sectors such as oil and gas or power, including the Chinese market within Saudi Arabia.
- A BA in civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering is advantageous.
- Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English, with good communication skills and business acumen.
