Role Overview
D1 Management is seeking an experienced Safety Officer to support its Health, Safety and Environment function.
The role reports to the Director of Operations and covers workplace safety across the organization.
Workplace Context
- The role supports safety activities across operational environments and coordinates with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct workplace safety inspections and risk assessments, identify hazards, and track corrective actions.
- Support accident, incident, and near-miss reporting and investigations.
- Assist with emergency preparedness, evacuation procedures, fire drills, and safety exercises.
- Provide safety guidance and training and promote employee safety awareness.
- Monitor personal protective equipment availability and use.
- Maintain HSE records, inspection reports, incident reports, and documentation.
- Monitor compliance with safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Coordinate with departments, contractors, service providers, and external stakeholders on HSE matters.
- Review safety procedures and emergency plans and prepare regular management reports.
- Escalate significant safety risks or incidents to management promptly.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant occupational health and safety or HSE experience.
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant professional HSE or safety certification is preferred.
- Experience in healthcare, hospital, veterinary, or complex operational environments is preferred.
- Knowledge of workplace safety, risk assessment, hazard identification, emergency procedures, incident investigation, inspections, and audits.
- Strong communication, report-writing, documentation, organizational, and independent working skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of UAE health and safety requirements is advantageous.
