Role Overview
Manage occupational health and safety activities for a building contracting organization.
Advise employees and executives on safety topics and enforce preventative measures.
Safety Responsibilities
- Support development of OHS policies and programs and update them according to legislation.
- Conduct risk assessments and inspect premises and personnel work practices.
- Oversee installations, maintenance, disposal of substances, and corrective safety measures.
- Stop unsafe or unhealthy acts and processes.
Training and Incident Management
- Organize OHS training for employees and executives.
- Record and investigate incidents, determine causes, and handle workers’ compensation claims.
- Prepare occurrence reports and provide statistical information to upper management.
Requirements and Skills
- Proven experience as a safety officer is required.
- In-depth knowledge of OHS legislation and procedures, including OSHA or EPA-related requirements, is required.
- Knowledge of hazardous materials or practices and experience writing safety reports and policies are required.
- Familiarity with data analysis, reporting statistics, and presenting safety topics is required.
- An occupational health and safety certificate is required.
- A BSc or BA in safety management, engineering, or a relevant field is preferred.
Compensation and Employment
- The position is full-time.
- Pay is up to AED 6,000 per month.
