Safety Monitoring and Inspections
- Monitor occupational health, safety and environmental activities at dam sites, water facilities and associated project locations.
- Conduct inspections of construction, operation, maintenance, repair and installation activities.
- Inspect work areas, access arrangements, personal protective equipment, emergency facilities and safety equipment.
- Identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, environmental concerns and potential hazards.
- Issue safety observations and follow up corrective and preventive actions through verified closure.
Contractor and High-Risk Activity Controls
- Review contractor safety plans, risk assessments, method statements, job-safety analyses and permit-to-work documents.
- Monitor contractor compliance with contractual safety provisions, approved procedures and legal requirements.
- Monitor controls for work at height, confined-space entry, lifting, electrical work, excavation, hot work and equipment isolation.
- Support safe execution of dam inspections, gate and valve maintenance, electromechanical activities and reservoir-related works.
Incident Response and Reporting
- Report incidents, accidents, near misses and dangerous occurrences and assist with investigations and root-cause analysis.
- Monitor emergency preparedness and participate in fire, evacuation, rescue, flooding and emergency-response drills.
- Support safety inductions, awareness campaigns, training programs and workshops.
- Maintain inspection, observation, incident, training and corrective-action records.
- Compile safety performance data, escalate serious hazards and prepare daily, weekly, monthly, annual and technical reports.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering or an equivalent discipline from a recognized university.
- Minimum 6 years of professional experience in occupational safety, health and environmental work.
- Experience monitoring construction, operations or maintenance activities in infrastructure or industrial environments.
- Practical knowledge of hazard identification, risk assessment, incident reporting, emergency response and contractor-safety monitoring.
- Experience inspecting work activities, safety equipment and site conditions.
- Ability to review risk assessments, method statements and permit-to-work documentation.
- Understanding of safety requirements for civil, electrical, mechanical and hydraulic activities.
- Ability to prepare inspection reports, safety observations and corrective-action records.
- Relevant experience must be supported by verifiable employment records, project references, reports or studies when requested.
