About the Role
As a Unit Manager (RN) at Swanton Valley, you’ll be a trusted leader on the floor—guiding, supporting, and inspiring your nursing team while ensuring our residents receive exceptional care. Working closely with the Director of Nursing and interdisciplinary team, you’ll help create a positive, well-organized unit where compassion, professionalism, and teamwork thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and support licensed nurses and STNAs on your assigned unit
- Provide hands-on clinical leadership while reinforcing best practices and facility protocols
- Oversee resident care plans, assessments, documentation, and follow-up in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
- Participate in daily clinical meetings, care conferences, and quality improvement initiatives
- Address resident and family concerns with empathy, respect, and prompt follow-through
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including infection control and documentation standards
- Serve as a positive role model who fosters accountability, teamwork, and mutual respect
What We’re Looking For
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Ohio
Minimum of 2 years of experience in long-term care or skilled nursing strongly preferred
Previous leadership, charge nurse, or unit management experience
Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
A compassionate, professional leader who truly cares about residents and staff
