Risk Engineer

Role Overview

Risk Management

• Identify, assess, and monitor technical, contractual, commercial, and operational risks.
• Conduct risk assessments using HAZOP, FMEA, LOPA, and Bow-Tie methodologies.
• Maintain project risk registers and develop mitigation strategies.
• Monitor Key Risk Indicators and mitigation effectiveness.
• Review engineering designs, project plans, and contracts for project risks.

Contract Administration

• Administer EPC, construction, procurement, and subcontract agreements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage contract compliance, variations, change orders, claims, extensions of time, and contract documentation.
• Support tender evaluations, contractual risk assessments, and dispute avoidance.

Coordination and Reporting

• Coordinate with Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, Commercial, Legal, and HSE teams.
• Prepare risk and contract reports and maintain documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
• Promote risk management best practices through guidance and awareness initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as PMI-RMP, PMP, CCM, or RICS are an advantage.
• 3–7 years of experience in EPC, construction, engineering, or contracting environments.
• Experience in risk assessment, contract administration, project risk management, and claims management.

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Familiarity with EPC contracts, procurement, subcontract administration, and change management.
• Knowledge of ISO 31000, FIDIC, HAZOP, FMEA, LOPA, Bow-Tie, and project risk management principles.
• Understanding of EPC delivery, project controls, procurement, contract administration, and HSE standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and risk or project management software.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, communication, report writing, and organizational abilities.
