- Maintain strong presence at worksite, especially in high risk areas, spending approximately 75% of working day at worksite
- Promote safety programs and ensure employee awareness of standards
- Assist in management of SHIELD program and encourage active participation
- Monitor compliance with control of work systems such as JSA, SOPs, PTW, Isolation, Confined Space, Rescue Planning
- Assist with internal/external audit completion and tracking
- Carry out onboard training and book crew training to ensure compliance with training matrix
- Participate in rig based incident reporting and investigations to determine root causes

- Experience in HSE role on offshore rigs
- Knowledge of Barrier Management System and safety programs
- Ability to conduct safety training and audits

Role Overview
- Promotes and enforces implementation of all QHSSE requirements and facilitates implementation and improvement of Barrier Management System (BMS) onboard the rig.
- Provides guidance and expertise to all personnel on Health, Safety, & Environmental (HSE) standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintains a strong presence at the worksite, especially in high risk, high activity areas (i.e., deck, drill floor). Approximately 75% of the working day should be spent at the worksite.
- Promotes Safety Programs (i.e. ADES 8 keys to incident free) on the rig.
- Assists in the management of the Stop, Hazard, Initiate, Engage, Learn and Demonstrate (SHIELD) program.
- Ensures Stop Work Authority (SWA) obligation is understood by all persons on board.
- Assists the OIM/STP/PIC by monitoring/verifying compliance with control of work systems such as JSA, SOPs, PTW, Isolation, Confined Space, Rescue Planning etc.
- Complies with, monitor, and effectively contribute to the continuous improvement of BMS, HSE related policies and procedures.
- Identifies and addresses HSE or noncompliance concerns in collaboration with site operations management.
- Assists with internal/external audit completion, close out, and tracking.
- Monitors the selection of suitable personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Carries out onboard training and/or books crew training to ensure full compliance with the crew training matrix.
- Participates and assists the Offshore Installation Manager (OIM)/STP/PIC with rig based incident reporting and investigations.
- Moderates the rig self verification process.
