  • Jacobs is seeking a Resident Engineer (Mechanical) to lead and oversee, coordinate, and supervise all mechanical engineering activities associated with large scale infrastructure projects, including utility networks, District Cooling Plants (DCP), chilled water transmission systems, Sewage Treatment

Key Responsibilities

  • Mechanical Construction Supervision: Supervise all mechanical construction activities related to District Cooling Plants, Sewage Treatment Plants, pumping stations, utility networks, and associated infrastructure.
  • Design Review & Technical Support: Review and provide technical comments on shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, inspection and test plans, technical queries, and requests for information.
  • Testing, Commissioning & Startup: Oversee and witness all testing, pre commissioning, commissioning, and startup activities for mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA/QC): Ensure that all mechanical works meet the highest quality standards and comply with approved quality management procedures.
  • Health, Safety & Environment (HSE): Actively promote a strong safety culture and ensure full compliance with project health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Stakeholder & Authority Coordination: Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, utility providers, government agencies, and regulatory authorities.
  • Contract Administration: Support project contract administration activities by reviewing contractor progress, evaluating variation orders, assessing claims, verifying completed work, and providing technical recommendations.

Here's what you'll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 15 20 years of progressive experience in large scale infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of international standards and construction practices.
  • GCC/Middle East Infrastructure Project Experience Preferred.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
