Job Description
Interact with existing customers to increase sales of company products and services.
Obtain, create, and up-sell orders while improving customer satisfaction and the buying experience.
Use proactive selling techniques to add business or expand existing accounts.
Collaborate with outside sales to help achieve goals.
Responsibilities
- Obtain and process orders through email and telephone calls, including fulfillment transfers and delivery-date communication.
- Increase orders through related-item recommendations, feature explanations, and customer-history reviews.
- Own, qualify, and develop opportunities from marketing, outside sales, and national accounts.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and follow up on quotations to secure orders.
- Monitor open orders, backorders, expediting reports, and customer notifications.
- Report industry trends, competitive pricing, and customer feedback to management.
Qualifications
- High school degree or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
- Requires 2–4 years of sales and sales administration knowledge and experience.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
- Ability to multitask, communicate clearly, work independently, and solve problems.
- Ability to prospect and market concepts to existing and potential new accounts.
- Travel requirement is 0%–25%.
Compensation
- The role includes commission in addition to base salary, with earnings tied to individual sales performance.
