Job Overview

  • The Repair & Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the inspection, testing, qualification, repair, and maintenance of field tools and equipment.
  • The role ensures effective execution of preventive and corrective maintenance, retrofits, and upgrades across electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and data acquisition systems, including downhole tools.
  • The supervisor leads maintenance activities, supervises workshop operations, assigns priorities, and ensures compliance with company standards, safety regulations, and operational requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain high standards of corporate governance and ensure compliance with security, quality, HSE policies, and industry regulations.
  • Promote a strong culture of quality, health, safety, security, and environmental stewardship.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, process optimization, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to quality management systems and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Conduct and lead daily operations meetings, safety briefings, and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) sessions.
  • Maintain equipment, facilities, and work areas in a safe, clean, and operational condition.
  • Supervise repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Oversee assembly, installation, testing, calibration, and repair of tools and equipment.
  • Inspect components and assess dimensional changes or wear using precision measurement tools.
  • Lead preventive and corrective maintenance, modifications, and upgrade activities.
  • Ensure accurate testing, qualification, and calibration of tools in line with company procedures.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of maintenance and repair techniques across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems.
  • Ability to diagnose complex equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Understanding of hazardous materials, radioactive sources, explosives, NDT/NDE processes, and ATEX requirements.
  • Strong troubleshooting, fault finding, and monitoring capabilities.
  • Critical thinking, analytical problem solving, and decision making skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, manuals, schematics, and procedures.
  • Effective leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Quality control and inspection expertise to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Proficiency in maintenance reporting systems and work order management software.
  • Strong safety awareness and commitment to HSE standards.

Qualifications

  • Technical Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or related discipline).
  • Minimum 4–6 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry, including hands on maintenance and repair.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience in a repair and maintenance, workshop, or field service environment.
  • Experience with downhole tools, data acquisition systems, and oilfield equipment is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of quality systems, HSE requirements, and maintenance best practices.
