Responsibilities
- Own the execution of the corporate AI mandate within Cayenta, moving from activity to measurable P&L impact
- Translate AI capabilities into revenue generating or cost saving initiatives and be accountable for business case and ROI
- Accelerate the CayentaOne roadmap by championing AI assisted development practices
- Oversee product strategy for Cayla, evolving it into a core agentic AI platform
- Act as key technical advisor to EVP and GM, translating complex concepts into business terms
- Own and articulate business case for technology roadmap and defend strategic priorities with executive peers
- Manage entire R&D P&L, balancing budget between market driven features, technical debt, and strategic AI investments
- Instill agile, metrics driven approach to development, improving velocity and predictability
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a 70 person organization, aligning team with AI first strategic goals
- Win trust of skeptics and foster culture of pragmatic innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement

- Proven track record as a trusted technology partner
- Demonstrated experience moving AI initiatives from ideation to live production with measurable P&L impact
- Deep, hands on experience leading multi year modernization of a mature, revenue generating enterprise software product
- High emotional intelligence with demonstrated success turning around or re energizing a change resistant engineering culture
- Financial acumen and understanding of how to run R&D with P&L discipline
- Must hold a current, valid passport and be legally eligible to travel internationally

Role Overview
- Seeking a Vice President of Research & Development who is a business focused technology leader.
- Responsible for driving AI centric transformation of core product suite and evolution of a large, tenured engineering organization.
- Must balance executing strategic multi year roadmap for next generation CayentaOne platform while supporting operational realities of a large install base.
What Your Impact Will Be
- Drive the AI Powered Transformation: Own execution of corporate AI mandate, translate AI capabilities into revenue/cost saving initiatives, accelerate CayentaOne roadmap, oversee product strategy for Cayla.
- Serve as a Strategic Business Partner: Act as key technical advisor to EVP and GM, own and articulate business case for technology roadmap.
- Lead Technical & Product Execution: Manage entire R&D P&L, instill agile metrics driven approach.
- Lead a Resilient Change Ready Team: Lead, mentor, and inspire a 70 person organization, win trust of skeptics, foster culture of innovation.

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: CAD 130,000 CAD 200,000 (or USD 91,000 USD 141,000)
