Role Description
- The Home Health Aid is a part time, remote role focused on supporting individuals in maintaining their health, well being, and independence at home.
- Day to day tasks include providing guidance on safe daily living activities, monitoring basic health indicators, and reporting concerns to appropriate healthcare professionals.
- The role involves offering patient centered support, promoting adherence to care plans, and encouraging healthy habits and preventive practices.
- The Home Health Aid will communicate regularly with clients and families, document observations accurately, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.
- This position requires a high level of professionalism, empathy, and respect for diverse backgrounds and needs.
Qualifications
- Strong Communication skills, including clear verbal and written interaction with clients, families, and care teams.
- Customer Service skills to provide respectful, client focused support and handle inquiries with patience and professionalism.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health principles to promote safe home environments and reduce risk of injury during daily activities.
- Basic understanding of Medicine and Health Promotion to support care plans, encourage preventive practices, and recognize when to escalate health concerns.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage time effectively, and maintain accurate, confidential records.
- Demonstrated empathy, reliability, and cultural sensitivity when working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Previous experience in home health, community health, or caregiving is preferred.
- Relevant certification or training in home health aid, nursing assistance, or a related field is an asset.
