Overview
Scope of Service: L-16 Surgical Oncology Unit (KACO&LD)
No. of Beds: 30
Level 16 Surgical Oncology Unit is specifically designated to Adult General Surgery to include Hepatobiliary & Breast & Endocrine Surgery patient, Transplant Hepatology, and, Liver & Kidney Transplant Donors.
The majority of patients have malignant disease requiring complex diagnostic work-up, major complex surgery or treatment follow-up.
The unit has a designated Physical Therapist, Patient Relations Representative, Social Worker and Dietitian.
The unit also has a procedure room for minor procedures like PICC line insertions, paracentesis and chest tube insertion.

Cancer of the Liver
Laparoscopic And Open And Robotic Cholecystectomy
Whipple s Procedure
Gastrojejunostomy
Nutritional support (TPN, enteral feeding)
Wound and skin management
Pain control
Management and care of Adult Patients with Breast & Endocrine Conditions
Radical/Simple mastectomy
Parathyroidectomy
Management and care of patients with Liver Diseases
Cryptogenic liver cirrhosis
End stage liver diseases
Viral Hepatitis B & C
Hepatic encephalopathy
Pre-liver transplant work-up
