- Valid UAE nursing license/registration
- NICU nursing experience
- Competency in neonatal resuscitation and basic life support

Role Overview
- Responsible for providing and coordinating patient care, educating patients and public, and providing advice and emotional support to patients and family members.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and identify patients' needs and implement and monitor medical plan
- Perform systematic patient assessment and re assessment
- Understand and analyze assessment information
- Determine actual and potential nursing diagnoses
- Define predicted and expected outcomes of planned care
- Create and evaluate patient care plans with interprofessional team
- Record vital signs, recognize and escalate abnormalities
- Maintain and update technical and clinical skills
- Employ strategies to promote health and safe environment
- Understand diagnostic tests and laboratory examinations
- Perform essential life support (BLS, Neonatal Resuscitation)
- Prepare patients for medical examination and treatment
NICU Specific Duties
- Complete care and safety of allocated neonates
- Care for critically ill, unconscious, or ventilated neonates
- Accurate monitoring of vital signs, hemodynamics, and oxygenation
- Report any abnormality in patient condition immediately
- Competent in all aspects of neonatal nursing care
- Assist to resuscitate an asphyxiated newborn
- Consult and cooperate with medical staff on care of mother and baby
- Care for relatives’ needs and emotions through stressful situations
- Safe custody and administration of drugs/narcotics
- Educate family regarding growth, development, milestones, feeding, disease, medication
- Promote and teach breastfeeding
- Perform competency in point of care testing
Additional Duties
- Handle all equipment in the unit
- Ensure equipment is maintained in good working order
- Ensure complete ward requirements, stock verification and inventories
- Recognize and respond promptly to code situations
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation in EMR
- Maintain unit specific and general nursing competencies by Elsevier
