Position Overview

Compensation and Contract

• The pay is $40 per hour.
• The contract type is a one-year contract.

Schedule

• The schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Workplace

• The position is located at 4100 W Third Street, Dayton, Ohio.

Nursing Responsibilities

• Perform critical care nursing for Intensive Care Unit patients.
• Perform scrub and circulating duties in the Emergency Department and Operating Room.
• Obtain patient and pertinent family histories.
• Assess patients and plan appropriate nursing care.
• Document plans of care and care provided in patient medical records.
• Verify physician-order transcription; verbal orders are not accepted.
• Communicate pertinent patient data to the charge nurse or physician as appropriate.
• Reassess patient conditions and revise care plans based on identified nursing problems.
• Administer medications and intravenous therapies and document patient responses.
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately during emergencies and procedures.
• Provide patient and family instruction regarding medications, therapies, and procedures and document understanding.
• Operate defibrillators, EKG machines, cardiac monitors, and other emergency technical equipment.

Requirements

• Be authorized to work permanently in the United States without sponsorship.
• Graduate from a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate state accrediting agency.
• Hold a current license from the Ohio Board of Nursing.
• Hold current CPR certification from an American Health Association vendor.
• Have at least one year of direct patient-care experience within the last three years.
• Have Basic Life Support or Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
• Previous experience with the VA is a plus.
• Complete credentialing and onboarding requirements consistent with VA medical staff processes if selected.
