About the Role

Responsibilities
- Lead, monitor, and safely facilitate normal physiological labor and delivery within established clinical guidelines
- Provide comprehensive antenatal and postnatal care, including routine monitoring and clinical follow ups
- Cross cover and assist in related clinical departments as needed (e.g., outpatient OB/GYN clinics, neonatal units, female inpatient areas)
- Identify high risk factors or impending obstetric/neonatal complications early, initiating emergency protocols and medical escalations
- Coordinate care plans, including placing orders for necessary laboratory investigations and routine ultrasound imaging as authorized
- Provide vital health counseling, postnatal education, and dedicated breastfeeding/lactation support to new mothers and families
- Maintain accurate medical records and clinical documentation within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
- Support quality improvement and patient safety activities within the maternal health department
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Midwifery OR Bachelor's Degree in Nursing with accredited Post Graduate Qualification in Midwifery
- Minimum 3 years of continuous, post registration acute care general hospital experience in the specialized department
- Active valid license as a Registered General Nurse from DHP in Qatar (preferred)
- Possession of a valid professional practice license from country of origin or current jurisdiction
- Strong clinical judgment and precise procedural skills regarding maternal and neonatal care
- Clear, empathetic communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams

- Provide comprehensive antenatal and postnatal care, including routine monitoring and clinical follow ups
- Cross cover and assist in related clinical departments as needed (such as outpatient OB/GYN clinics, neonatal units, or female inpatient areas) to ensure continuous operational support
- Identify high risk factors or impending obstetric/neonatal complications early, initiating emergency protocols and prompt medical escalations to the attending physician when necessary
- Coordinate care plans, including placing orders for necessary laboratory investigations and routine ultrasound imaging as authorized
- Provide vital health counseling, postnatal education, and dedicated breastfeeding/lactation support to new mothers and families
- Maintain accurate medical records and clinical documentation within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system

Professional Requirements & Qualifications
- Highest priority will be afforded to candidates possessing an active, valid license as a Registered General Nurse from the Department of Healthcare Professions (DHP) in Qatar.
- Bachelor's Degree in Midwifery OR a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing with an accredited Post Graduate Qualification (Degree/Diploma) in Midwifery
- A minimum of 3 years of continuous, post registration acute care general hospital experience, explicitly within the specialized department of application.
- Possession of a valid, professional practice license from the country of origin or current jurisdiction, Primary Source Verification, Qualifying Exam result and DHP evaluation (for international applicants).
- Previous clinical experience in Qatar preferred
